The 50th Anniversary of Fr Peter’s Ordination

Fr Peter McGrath, who celebrated his 50th anniversary of Profession as a Passionist, wishes to convey the following sentiments and share this reflection: When Tony Egar and myself celebrated 40 years of Ordination at St. Anthony in the Fields, Terrey Hills, we both wrote very similar comments on a little book mark that was printed for the occasion. I would like to update that bookmark and instead of beginning with 40 years, now have 50 years. “Fifty years is a millimetre for…

25th Anniversary of a Family Group

Original members, some of whom have moved on from the parish, children who grew up and are now making their own life, and recent additions in the shape of grandchildren, all responded to the call to gather, catch up and reminisce…

Blessings from Ballina

I have just returned home from a beautiful autumn day spent with our Sandpiper Family Group at Ballina. We were blessed, this week, with having a visit to our parish of a group of young sisters from Canberra who are in the community for the Missionaries of God’s Love. They have been working with the youth of the parish in preparation for WYD 2008 and they came to our family group barbeque before heading home. by Maureen  Murphy

The First International Family Group Day

The idea of a special day for Family Groups came from the members in London, UK and jour our very first celebration day was on Sunday 7th of May 2000. Our Founder, Father Peter McGrath, and the NSW and INTL PFGM offices were then at the Passionist Monastery at St. Ives when Father Peter wrote to encourage parishes to bring all their people together to celebrate the Eucharist with Family Group members participating in the Liturgy. He suggested that during…
