Weekend for Family Groups at Wagga-August 2005

Mary Ingham & Fr. Peter McGrath visited Wagga for our annual motivational visit. We had dinner Friday night with our new co-ordinators Marg & Ron McAuliffe. They are terrific people, very caring, and I know will do a great job. It will be a hard act to follow in the footsteps of Marg & Paul Casey, who have been co-ordinators and also regional Co-ordinators of the Wagga Diocese.

Fr. Wilf Plunkett was also present and is a great supporter of our Family Groups. He is celebrating his 50 years anniversary as a priest this year so congratulations from us all to him on his many years of service

We had our renewal day the next day at Kooringal church and had people from all parishes in Wagga as well as people from Albury & North Albury. It was a great day with much input from Fr. Peter on “ The heart of Family Groups “ also “ The vital role of Family Groups in the future church”

We then had Mass at South Wagga, which Fr. Peter celebrated and finished with dinner for about 50 people at the Kooringal Hotel

On Sunday, Peter celebrated the 10.30am Mass at Kooringal and we all met for a picnic lunch at the Gardens

Many thanks to all who helped organise the day.

As Marg and Paul Casey have moved to the South Coast we are organizing a regional team to help look after the Wagga Diocese. Marg & Ron McAuliffe will look after the Wagga parishes, and Nano Clancey and Reg & Pat Hanson will look after Albury, North Albury & Lavington.
We are still looking for some-one to care for Griffith & Leeton.
