[ back ] The Role of the Regional Co-Ordinator Regional Co-ordinators provide a contact between the Family Group Director Regional co-ordinators … § can be a couple or part of a team or a single person. § need to be competent, enthusiastic and have a real understanding of the aims and goals of the PFGM. § are accountable to the FG Director and should keep in regular contact § are expected to assist parish FGs which experience difficulties. The three most common ways of assisting would be: a) attend a meeting of leaders in each parish at least once a year. b) meet with the parish co-ordinators ( not just phone contact ) c) meet with the pastor § are responsible for the development of FGs within their region. They are encouraged to build a supportive network for the Co-ordinators of the area. Such a network would involve them meeting 2-3 times a year. Whenever there is a change of pastor he should be contacted within 6 weeks of his arrival, and a visit arranged so that his and their role within the movement can be explained. When there is a change in Co-ordinators in a parish, Regional Co-ordinators ought to be involved in ensuring that the new Co-ordinators understand the role and that they be assured of the support available to them. |
